RE Apple's off the mark #iPad ad #Crush (NYT link below): In my ad strategy days, I likely would've been the guy who said, “has anyone considered people may take it the wrong way and feel like we’re trivializing their creativity by suggesting they can be replaced by an iPad?” And many would've said, “Shut up, Eric.” So, just going on record here I would’ve been right. 🙂 https://lnkd.in/eQ_sqW_z
It typically comes later in life than for pro athletes (in this case, a surfing champion) but many of us have had to reinvent ourselves a bit to adapt to changing times. It took me a while to leave the ad agency world behind – after all, my email address has been “ericadman…” since the dawn of digital time, and I started my career at an agency that was actually mentioned in an episode of Mad Men – but I am proud to have done it successfully, at least as far as I’m concerned. Cheers to anyone who’s had to surf those waves like I have. And best wishes to anyone who needs to do it in the future. You may not be able to stay on top of the wave, but it’s been fun, or at least a rush, being in the barrel.
