My career and journey to medicine started with service to people affected by leprosy (Hansen's Disease), a rare disease. I am delighted to share two recent publications advocating for improved access to quality care for rare disease patients. One of the publications was penned with my colleagues and classmates Robin Yoon (Georgetown), Yehuda Elkaim (UPenn), and William Gao (also UPenn). You can read the publications below.

"Zebras Among Us: Advocating for the 30 million Americans living with rare disease" https://rdcu.be/djy2u

"Incentivizing Drug Development for Patients With Rare Diseases" https://lnkd.in/dwgePVwM

Thank you to National Organization for Rare Disorders, The Global Partnership for Zero Leprosy, and Leprosy Review for your support and training through the years. I am also grateful to Georgetown University School of Medicine for their inclusion of rare in their curriculum. Looking forward to many more years of supporting rare diseases and disorders.

When I changed careers to attend medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine, I knew I wanted to fold in my MBA and management consulting background (pharma and biotech). The opportunity arose in these two discussion articles, set to be published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the official journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). We discuss two fantastic articles influencing plastic surgeons' training, practice, and reimbursement. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the discussion.

A heartfelt thank you to my co-authors; Mary Somers and Dr. Lee Dellon for always encouraging me to bring insights from my different professional experiences; Marc Samuels, Michael Beebe, and Anqi Lu, colleagues from ADVI Health, for everything they taught me about CMS and AMA; and Dr. DAVID SONG of Georgetown Plastic Surgery, for taking a chance on my ideas.
