[Community Alert] driftctl is going #multicloud !!! 🙌 After an incredibly busy summer, we are super proud to announce initial #Azure and #GCP support for driftctl in September🔥
Since we launched this #OSS tool to catch drifts outside of your #IaC with an initial focus on #AWS, we've been flooded with demands from our community to expand the support to Azure and GCP. Deciding which one to support first was a huge dilemma as demands kept coming in for both. So THERE YOU HAVE IT we decided to go for both at the same time! 😁
Our September releases will open the path towards multi-cloud support, with a first resource made available for each of the cloud providers. We're going for a classic release early, release often #opensource approach, and will be steadily adding new resources over the coming weeks. We will also provide great developer documentation for all open source contributors wishing to add new resources to the tool as they need them.
Cherry on the cake, we have started foundational work to add AWS #CloudFormation support along with #Hashicorp's #Terraform. This is incredibly exciting to us as going multi-IaC is the next natural step towards building a global map of infrastructures across all clouds and tools and thus meet #DevSecOps needs.
Back to the basics! In this blog post, we’ll show the simplest but secure way we can use authentication with #AWS and driftctl: a read-only IAM dedicated user and an optional separate IAM profile to access the S3 bucket that contains the #Terraform states.
