Highlights
In achieving #sustainability, #ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) is a great concept that works for the common good. But the system is not easy to navigate (and expensive) for users, there is a proliferation of ESG data monitoring platforms as well as limited amount of actual data sharing which lead to concerns about the validity of ESG data and the problem of proxy indicators (and risks of greenwashing)
Excellent discussions at the United Nations in Geneva yesterday on this timely topic. The notion of Digital Product Passport is becoming a reality in some geographies, but value chains are global. What more global than the UN to facilitate data exchange and build a resilient governance framework. MyData Global is proud to contribute to the discussion, and through its presence on 5 continents will readily participate to development and implementation of a transparent, traceable and trustworthy ESG global framework. Thank you to the UN/CEFACT and UNECE team for having me.

Google and Microsoft are now saying they will not meet their 2030 #carbonzero objectives because of ...#AI. This raises several questions (and I draw your attention on the 3rd): 1. Do we need to run #chatGPT to produce an image we could have drawn or at least get from a gifted designer and 2. They should run towards #renewables to fuel their data centres, but in my opinion, the third reason is the one we need to discuss the most. 3. QUALITY OF DATA. This is the key to #ai. What do we have with GenAI. They put everything in a huge barrel, stir it, and hope that when they take a scoop out (your query) it won't be an hallucination. Notwithstanding that LLMs are easily hackable and you may not wish to see critical information end up in their soup.
I am not saying we should move away from #GenAI. I am saying we need to work more on BETTER AI, not BIGGER ones. And better ai starts with better data. Better data starts with federated architecture and a solid trust framework.
This is what we need to build and grow. The solution to polluting cars is not to fill their tank with biofuel, it is to use alternatives: electric train or car, tramway or bicycle or even... walk.
Looking forward to this exciting task. Do not hesitate to reach out.
