Headed to TED AI, excited like a kid on Christmas! When we started CellScope (acquired by J&J) thirteen years ago, our vision was to modernize physical exam data, driving a machine learning flywheel for automated analysis. We were early on the curve of discriminative deep learning models for health, and our team demonstrated an ear infection classifier that outperformed physicians. We also implemented the model in a visual guidance system to help inexperienced users navigate the ear canal.

These features were thrilling and a little scary to some audiences at the time. It's incredible to see how far the field has progressed in a few short years, with accurate classification and generative AI guidance becoming increasingly prevalent. I can't wait to see what's just around the corner!
