Erik Hersman

Erik Hersman is a prominent figure in African tech, known for his leadership as the CEO of BRCK, a company manufacturing rugged wireless WiFi devices for emerging markets, including the Moja public WiFi network. He is also a co-founder of iHub, a technology innovation hub in Nairobi, and Ushahidi, a crisis information crowdsourcing software. Erik has established online communities like afrigadget.com and whiteafrican.com, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in Africa. Additionally, he serves on the boards of various organizations and is a general partner in the Savannah Fund.

Erik Hersman is a Senior TED Fellow and a PopTech Fellow, recognized for his contributions to technology and innovation. With a background in BS from Florida State University, he excels in African tech, strategy, team building, leadership, internet, and communications.
