AI for ESG and Better Buildings
This is a translation (obviously with CoPilot) as requested by some of my English speaking friends of an earlier Dutch post.
By now, everyone will have at least tried ChatGPT. With Generative AI, ChatGPT or CoPilot, we only touch on part of what is possible with AI. CoPilot is offered fully integrated in tools such as Office, PowerBI, etc.
But applying AI to data sources, from a range of different systems, for example to meet ESG obligations or to make your building perform better, requires much effort and often involves too high a costs.
These barriers, specifically for small and medium-sized businesses have not escaped the attention of Big Tech. It is for this reason that Microsoft offers a completely integrated AI service in a single solution, as a service, with Microsoft Fabric.
Recently, I had the pleasure of spending a week with Microsoft in the US at the 1st Microsoft Fabric Community Conference, 6 days long, Microsoft Fabric only. In addition to attending dozens of presentations and demos, I was also able to follow a number of training courses. During that week I realized how much time and work I spend during my working life in extracting data from systems, processing that data to make it suitable for analysis, reporting, etc. and how phenomenal this new development is.
Unlocking data from 150+ systems, storing it in OneLake (a kind of OneDrive for data, after which all data is made available in one universal format). Not copying data so that we all work and refer to one and the same (truth) data, and much more.
It is important that you have all the AI possibilities at your disposal without writing code, or at least as little (low-code, no-code). Unlocking data, editing, enriching, transforming, securing and even unlocking data from, for example, Amazon S3, Google or existing on-premise databases is all done via a single graphical UI in which PowerBI takes center stage.
It would be going too far to go into all the details of Microsoft Fabric here. With Fabric, Microsoft makes AI accessible to everyone. What AI doesn't solve is 'garbage-in, garbage-out', so even if you're not ready for AI, but just want to have all your data accessible and managed in one universal way, Fabric is worth considering.
