New work for National Geographic Television & Film, Inc.

Very excited for this week’s badass reboot drop of the legendary Explorer series. I was fortunate and very honored to work with Lincoln Square Productions and the A-team over at Expedition Studios as the Production Manager for this first episode directed by Taylor Rees Renan Ozturk & Drew Pulley and featuring Alex Honnold Mark Synnott and Dr. Bruce Means. There were many producers on this including Bengt Anderson, Drew Pulley, Ben Newman, John K. Block, and many more.

This project came to me in late 2020 at a time in my life where I really needed an inspirational challenge to bring me back to myself, and boy did this job ever. I spent 3-4 months dealing with one of the most extreme Tetris puzzles of remote flights & logistics, unique gear orders, the gauntlet of all covid tests for this crew’s entry to Guyana, the saint of a travel agent Marie over at Disney Travel, budgets, spreadsheets, travel forms, and much more. When I put on the Grand Canyon in March 2021, I was getting logistics requests from Garmin devices in remote Mexican mountains (that’s another episode) and crafting a hail Mary specialty lens delivery in the Miami airport terminal from Sony to Renan, up until the very last minute I put my oars in the water to set off downriver. Just the thought of that job gets my adrenaline going in the best of ways.

Can’t thank my dear friend Rachel Meyer enough for recommending me to work with such an incredible team on a this story. Thx to all the crew for being one of the most inspiring teams to work with and helping me keep the stress levels down by putting up with as many of my jokes as possible: Rudy Lehfeldt-Ehlinger, Ryan Valasek @fuconei, Matt Irving, @brianirwinmedia and all the fine folks at LSP, NG, & D+ … thank you for an A+ experience !

Explorer: The Last Tepui premieres Friday April 22nd (Earth Day) on Disneyplus
