Erin Lau, a Native Hawaiian filmmaker, hails from Kahalu'u on O'ahu, drawing inspiration from her heritage and focusing on projects that highlight the female perspective and the Asian Pacific community.

Starting as a documentary filmmaker, Erin transitioned to scripted content after her screenplay 'Little Girl’s War Cry' was awarded funding by the Film Raro Competition out of thousands of entries, shedding light on issues like domestic violence and cultural identity.

Erin Lau pursued her education at the Academy for Creative Media at the University of Hawai'i for her Bachelors before moving on to work as a videographer and editor at 'Ōiwi TV', a Hawaiian grassroots news and documentary production company.

Her academic journey continued with a full-ride merit scholarship at Chapman University in Los Angeles, where she obtained her MFA in Directing in 2018. Throughout her studies, Erin has crafted numerous award-winning short films and was recognized as a Sundance Native Lab fellow in 2017.

Currently, Erin Lau serves as a Senior Producer-Director at Jubilee Media in Los Angeles, where she lends her creative talents to various productions. In addition to her role at Jubilee Media, Erin passionately continues to write and direct her own projects focused on empowering and giving voice to minorities and women.
