What to say about no longer working at #ScribeMedia? My god, I cannot even begin to start.
It will take time to collect my thoughts, for sure.
I do know I am thankful for the incredible people I got to know through Scribe. Oh, the people! They were always the reason for the season. Those brave, vulnerable authors who trusted me with their book projects, my fellow creatives who taught me how to work, and the ever-changing roster of evolved, savvy, whiz-kid seekers who were the very lifeblood of that company. You are true originals, and you pushed me–always–to become a better human being. If I am, the credit goes to you as much as it does to me.
You will always have my friendship and a place in my heart.
This stunning arrangement arrived for me today from two authors I had the great honor of working with at Libra Press this year, Jason Chatfield and Scott Dooley. Their book, "You’re Not a Real Parent Until…" is a thing of hilarity, and genius, and joy--one of my favorite endeavors ever. The arrangement was both a pleasant surprise and a timely reminder that though my time at Scribe is over, this job always has been and will continue to be a great one. When you’re done with your work, you’ve helped incredible people make beautiful things. What could be more gratifying?
To anyone currently hiring, know that there are 80+ absolute savages looking for work. I’d advise you to move quickly because they will not be available for long.
Farewell Scribe! Auf wiedersehen, good night. I’d say I am sad, but my son came home from college yesterday, so it's impossible to be unhappy right now.
