Erlend Hvoslef

Adviser at Norwegian Refugee Council

Erlend Hvoslef is a highly experienced professional with a background in Social Anthropology, specializing in Central-Asia. With over 20 visits to Central-Asia since 1993, he possesses a deep understanding of the region.

Since July 2006, Erlend has served as a NORCAP adviser at the Norwegian Refugee Council headquarters in Oslo. In this role, he has been actively involved in deploying personnel to UN missions globally, gaining insight into political and social landscapes worldwide. Erlend has undertaken field visits to Africa and Asia to support deployees and engage with UN partners.

His extensive international experience has honed his ability to operate in diverse settings and collaborate effectively with individuals from various cultural backgrounds. Erlend's skill set includes strong analytical capabilities developed through working in international teams.

In addition to his professional engagements, Erlend has contributed valuable insights to national and international newspapers and journals through his articles. He holds a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) degree in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Oslo (UiO).
