I’m excited to announce my new startup: Lizzy Sleep!

Our mission is to help babies (and families) sleep better 😴.

I'm no parenting expert but gonna let you in on a secret: parenting doesn't have to mean being sleepy all the time.

The Lizzy Sleep app is the easiest way to sleep train your baby and it’s available in the App Store today (link in comments). It's free to try. Use referral code LINKEDINLAUNCH for 50% off a premium subscription.

How did Lizzy Sleep come to be?

4 years ago, my wife and I welcomed our son Zacky into the world. It was life-changing and every other parenting cliche… but the reality is we were tired as ****! Like many first time parents we didn’t really know what we were doing and as he was getting bigger, rocking him to sleep for every nap and night was getting unsustainable.

Googling, FB groups, instagram influencers, and even some paid resources on sleep training led to more confusion than help.

Then we stumbled across a service called Sleep Baby Consulting (sleepbabyconsulting.com). As sleep consultants, they:

  1. do an intake questionnaire about you and your child,
  2. craft a personalized sleep plan for you that teaches you the fundamentals of good independent sleep,
  3. help guide you with a kickoff call,
  4. then provide ongoing text support for two weeks.

It was magic 🪄.

After just a few days, Zacky went from needing to be rocked for every single sleep, to falling asleep on his own in his crib in under 5 minutes. Change his diaper, read a book, sing a song, toss him in, ✌️, 💤.

We referred tons of our friends to Sleep Baby and would recommend sleep training to anyone who would listen, but like with any premium service, cost can be a barrier.

As an engineer and dad, I saw there was a huge opportunity to bring sleep consulting to more people. So I teamed up with Ensley Nesbitt, CEO of Sleep Baby Consulting, to create Lizzy Sleep.

Lizzy Sleep takes the best of in-person consulting with the speed and availability of LLMs and mobile to create an app that makes personalized sleep consulting available for the masses.

Early users are seeing tons of success and better sleep. One early user who had to use her husband’s iPhone to test the app said “omg this makes me want to switch to an iPhone” 🤣

If you’re a parent of a little one, give it a try!

How has AI changed my workflow as I work on my (AI-based) startup? Thought I'd post some concrete ways it's improved my work life:

  • I'm using a combination of Cursor + GitHub Co-Pilot to help me write code. Like many have shared, it's like a really good junior programmer. It's a rubber duck, helps me write rote code easier, and just generally reduces coding fatigue for a lot of things. Can't imagine life without it now.
  • Adaline by Arsh Shah Dilbagi and team is the best thing I've seen yet in terms of managing prompts, running evals, keeping logs, etc. It's the tool I've needed that helps me approach my prompt iteration systematically.
  • The Day.ai assistant jumps into my meetings, takes notes, gives me clips, summaries, indexable history, and more. Really valuable for founder meetings, but user calls also
  • ChatGPT for general search has replaced Google in many instances, data manipulation (CSV processing, etc), and other miscellaneous tasks
  • AI-based functionality within tools like Supabase make those tools easier to use.

In <1 year, AI has really transformed a lot of my day-to-day.

Would love to hear the best tools others are using.
