Ethan Bernstein

Ethan Bernstein is the Edward W. Conard Associate Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School, conducting research on workplace transparency and its impact on productivity, leadership, collaboration, and organization design.

He teaches various courses at HBS including Managing Human Capital for second-year MBA students and executive education programs. His teaching methodologies involve creative field research and experiments.

With a diverse educational background, Ethan holds an A.B. in Economics from Amherst College and advanced degrees in Business Administration, Law, and a Doctorate from Harvard University.

His professional experience includes consulting at BCG, serving as a C-level executive at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and being a Kauffman Foundation Fellow in Law, Innovation, and Growth.

Outside of work, Ethan enjoys activities such as cycling, running, skiing, reading, and listening to shows like 'Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me'. He is also passionate about exploring different cuisines.

Ethan has held various roles and positions in organizations such as being a Director on the Board of Directors at Protocol Labs, an Assistant Professor at HBS, and Chief Strategy Officer at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
