It's been a year in the making. I've now made the move to Seoul where I'll be based for the foreseeable future, though I'll be traveling regularly to the SF Bay Area and Singapore.

I look forward to working with existing partners like KAIST Holdings and Seoul National University while developing new partners and projects. I'll continue supporting Korean startups to expand internationally, especially to the US and Singapore/SEA.

But a new area I'm exploring is attracting foreign deep tech startups to tap on the world class technical talent, key resources like facilities and funding, and business opportunities in South Korea.

After leaving Korea in 2011, I'm excited to be back! Let's see how I personally and the startup scene here will grow and evolve in the years to come.

I’m excited to announce that I’ve joined KAIST Holdings as an advisor, focused on building cross-border networks and programs to support the global expansion of KAIST affiliated startups.

Since 2014 when I first brokered a partnership between UC Berkeley and UNIST, I’ve been working with Korean universities, accelerators and govt agencies on their startup programs, but always as side projects.

Now after seven years at UC Berkeley and then two and a half years at the National University of Singapore, I’m now in a position to bring my experience and network to Korea in a more focused way.

It’s an exciting time at KAIST as we build on existing programs and launch new initiatives. More to come!
