Menschen inklusiv zeichnen
*** 🇬🇧 version below ***

🇬🇧 We aren’t all the same, we don’t all look the same, we have different abilities, values and ideas, we bring different cultural experiences to the table. When we sketch for and with other people, the question of how we can represent them and their communities in our drawings in an inclusive way regularly comes up.
In today’s video I am sharing some pragmatic tips for how we can slightly alter our simple stick figures to include people of many shapes, sizes, abilities, ages and cultures.

🇬🇧 ‘It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.’ – Henry David Thoreau
Well, not quite… of course it does matter what we look at, but what we actually see is crucial for being able to make the right choices when trying to draw it. Learning to see in a structured way is as important as training the hand to execute clean and confident lines.
Today’ video is an excerpt from the Pragmatic Portraits class I’ve been teaching this year. The part I am sharing is on drawing noses. Yes, there is so much observe in just a humble nose and the variety of nose shapes is truly fascinating once you start seeing it through the eyes of a pragmatic sketcher… I hope this little snippet gives you a very direct feel of my teaching style and the level of detail and nerdery we’ll go into during the Pragmatic Sketching Masterclass.
