Loved the Techstars NYC Demo Day! Great energy, creativity, and inspiration!

My highlights:

  • Reelist.com helps frontline businesses hire gen z employees through video job descriptions -- awesome product demo Sean Worden!
  • IAMBIC sells Ai-fitted custom shoes, which would be so great for someone like me -- size 14, wide toe box (Maeve Wang)
  • Engagespot (Techstars S24) makes it easy to send and manage notifications across every channel (Shiv Shankar M S)
  • Crema lets freelancers accept payments from anywhere in the world (Ramón Ornelas)

All of these presenters made the problem super clear, even for folks unfamiliar with their industry, and then showed a simple, intuitive product.

David Nebinski recently hosted me for an OKR workshop, and did something subtle that had a profound effect on the conversation.

During our setup, he noticed a book on my bookshelf and asked about it. We began discussing books we'd been reading. As attendees joined the zoom call, he didn't pause our conversation, but continued it, pulling people in as they arrived.

These few minutes set an informal and participatory tone that lasted the whole workshop, leading to a wonderfully free-flowing conversation.
