Proud to have worked with the Myworkout team and stakeholders at Amedia , Optime Subsea and Telen 🙌 to create a realtime dashboard that shows the aggregated health benefits from users participating in a specific campaign. The dashboard was designed to engage and motivate users to join and participate in the health campaign by showing the most important achievement together with milestone progression and metrics that shortens the feedback loop 🔁. It’s designed to be used on big screens and also to be embedded and viewed both on desktop and mobile.
We used Laravel Livewire with the wire-extender dependency to provide realtime updates and make it easy to embed the dashboard on external sites. Since it’s integrated with our API code base, it was easy to push events related to any information that needs to be updated live. Instead of re-fetching the results shown on the dashboard for all browsers currently rely having it open, the changes are calculated whenever a change happens and distributed to all clients by using the built-in event broadcasting.
What took longer than expected was making the dashboard grid layout flexible and working across different resolutions in the intended way. We started too early on the design details instead of focusing on getting the grid right, and that made it a bit harder to debug and fix the root issues in the DOM/CSS.
