Fabrizio Dughiero

Fabrizio Dughiero is a 57-year-old professional with an extensive background in academia and technology transfer. Currently serving as the prorector for Technology Transfer and Industry Relations at the University of Padua, he is also the president of the SMACT Competence Center of the Triveneto region and a member of the Board of Directors of the Unismart Foundation, which he actively contributed to establish and develop.
With over thirty years of experience in academia, Fabrizio Dughiero has made significant contributions to the field of Industrial Engineering. Since 2012, he has been a full professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering, overseeing research activities at one of the world's leading laboratories in Electrothermal studies. He boasts a substantial publication record with over 200 scientific papers, including more than 150 indexed in WoS and SCOPUS. Additionally, he holds over 15 patents as an inventor or co-inventor and has founded two research companies.
Throughout his career, Fabrizio Dughiero has taken on various institutional roles, such as vice-director (and acting director) of a department, course program president, and a member of departmental resource committees. He is the founder and director of the Contamination Lab in the Veneto region, providing a unique transdisciplinary learning experience to students from diverse backgrounds.
His involvement extends to quality assurance committees within the university, where he chairs the Third Mission Quality Control Commission, serves on the University's Quality Control Commission, leads the Spin-off committee, and the patent committee. He has spearheaded numerous initiatives in research and technology transfer, including projects like UnImpresa and Proof of Concept.
Driven by a commitment to empowering young generations and shaping future leaders, Fabrizio Dughiero has decided to run for the position of Rector. He believes in the crucial role universities play in equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in today's complex and evolving society. Furthermore, he envisions universities, including his own, as catalysts for creating an environment where ambitions can flourish and personal and professional aspirations can be realized.
Fabrizio Dughiero holds a Laurea (Master's degree) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Padua and has also pursued an MBA in Entrepreneurship from the CUOA Business School.
