Fabrizio Opertti, a Uruguayan citizen, is a seasoned professional with vast experience in trade facilitation, investment promotion, and economic integration in Latin America and the Caribbean region.

In his current role as the Manager of the Integration and Trade Sector (INT) at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Mr. Opertti oversees the sector's programs, technical assistance, regional initiatives, and policy research agendas to enhance trade, investment, economic integration, and regional cooperation within LAC.

Previously, he successfully led the Trade and Investment Division (TIN) at the IDB, where he spearheaded initiatives supporting countries in trade facilitation, export promotion, and investment attraction efforts. Notably, he played a pivotal role in the creation of ConnectAmericas, a business-focused social network aimed at assisting SMEs in international trade and investment activities.

With a two-decade-long tenure at the IDB, Mr. Opertti has organized and established key pan-regional trade events such as the CEO Summit of the Americas and the Global Services-Outsource2LAC Business Forum, fostering trade dialogues and partnerships between LAC and Asia.

Fabrizio Opertti holds a degree in International Trade from Georgetown University and an MBA from The Johns Hopkins University, showcasing his strong educational background in the field.

His diverse roles at the IDB, including Manager of Trade and Integration, Chief of Trade and Investment, and Project Manager, reflect his commitment and expertise in driving impactful initiatives for trade and economic development in the region.
