I have faith in Canada’s justice system. For those of us who have the privilege of leveraging this great nation’s legal system, I urge us to seize every opportunity for justice. Whether your matter is civil or criminal; whether or not you’ve experienced gross civil injustices such as racism or discrimination at work or criminal affronts outside work. Seize the opportunity to bring every offender to justice because as per Edmund Burke’s iconic statement: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” Whatever fight confronts you today: never give up. Never give in. Be relentless in your pursuit of justice. If you’re not willing to do it for yourself, at least do it for the people who will follow your footsteps long after you’ve moved on to greener pastures.
