His educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Biological Sciences with a specialization in Neuroscience from St. John's University, a Master of Science in Biology/Biological Sciences from the same institution, a Master of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Dhaka, and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, also from the University of Dhaka.

Throughout his career, Faruk has been associated with several organizations, serving as a Molecular Technologist at LabQ Diagnostics, a Molecular Technologist at Sunrise diagnostic laboratory, an Adjunct Instructor, Graduate Teaching Assistant, and Doctoral Researcher at St. John's University, an Executive handling Method Development and Validation at Square Pharmaceuticals Limited, and a Graduate Student Researcher (MS thesis) at University of Dhaka.
