But medicine evolves, and so should our tools. It's prime time for an upgrade hence myself, #AlisDicpinigaitis Stephan Mayer R. Loch Macdonald decided to challenge the status quo!

Beyond honored to give the keynote address at my alma mater, Stony Brook University , Stony Brook University Graduate School.

As a chief resident, I vividly remember my last walk through the hospital, admiring the dinosaur fossils in the lobby and wondering when I would return.

I did not imagine I would come back as the keynote speaker for this amazing Stroke Symposium. Oliver Sacks Foundation wrote, "I cannot pretend I am without fear. But my predominant feeling is one of gratitude...."

My training at Stony Brook University Brook was instrumental in shaping who I am today and helped set the foundation of my contributions to my current institutions New York Medical College and Westchester Medical Center Health Network.

My journey is not about rags to riches but about change, choice, principles, and perseverance.
