Fernando Alvarado is the CEO of Deetken Impact Sustainable Energy (DISE), where he leads the General Partner and Investment Advisor for two significant clean energy and energy efficiency funds: the Honduras Renewable Energy Financing Facility (H-REFF) and the Caribbean Basin Sustainable Energy Fund (CABEF). These funds have a combined target capitalization of approximately US$100 million.

With over 28 years of international experience in credit and investment, Alvarado has spent 18 years specifically focusing on renewable energy portfolios in Latin America and the Caribbean. He has been involved in more than 50 syndicated credit and investment transactions for renewable energy projects, totaling over $250 million. His expertise includes the creation, structuring, fundraising, legal closing, and portfolio construction of various specialized renewable energy funds.123

Alvarado is originally from Costa Rica and is based in San José. He holds an MBA in Banking and Finance, graduating cum laude from the Universidad de Costa Rica.12
