Filippo Abbondanza is a passionate individual dedicated to using biotech and genomics to positively impact people's lives.

With a background in High School with a specialisation in math, physics, informatics, and science, Filippo excelled academically with an 81/100 score at Liceo scientifico E.Fermi.

He pursued further education by obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology with outstanding results, graduating with 110 cum laudae (1st equivalent) from Universit\u00e0 di Bologna.

Driven by his interest in Human Genetics, Filippo completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Human Genetics at the University of St Andrews, further enhancing his expertise in the field.

His academic journey continued with a Master of Science (MS) in Synthetic Biology and Biotechnology from The University of Edinburgh, where he graduated with Distinction, showcasing his commitment to excellence.

Filippo's professional experience includes roles such as Population Genomics Lead at Lifebit, Partnership Officer at Global Biotech Revolution, and GapSummit Team Leader at GapSummit.

He has also served as an Associate Consultant at Fractional IP, Marketing and Communication Manager at Young European Biotech Network, and Research Assistant at The University of Edinburgh.

Filippo's diverse experience extends to involvement in the iGEM Competition at The University of Edinburgh, an Internship in Plant genetics at Max Planck Institutes T\u00fcbingen, and a Summer Internship in C. elegans and nematode molecular biology at the University of Zurich.

Additionally, he has held positions such as Class Representative at The University of Edinburgh, Assistant Manager at Bec54, Catering Assistant at meli melo, and Part-time Secretary at Universit\u00e0 di Bologna.

In his free time, Filippo envisions his future accomplishments over the next 5 years, focusing on leveraging genomics to empower individuals and drive positive change in the world.

His strong belief in the transformative power of genomics and biotechnology motivates him to work towards a better future for all.
