The pioneering retailer James Cash Penney — founder of JCPenney — once said, "Growth is never by mere chance — it’s the result of forces working together."   The truth of that statement can certainly be seen in the recently published COMvergence 2023 Global & Regional Billings Rankings report that revealed Omnicom Media Group agencies outperformed the marketplace for growth across all four regions. OMG was the #1 global media group for growth in EMEA and LATAM, and at the agency level, OMD Worldwide topped both the North America and top five global media agency rankings, earning the highest YOY growth rates against the largest 2022 billings.

Making it an OMG clean sweep across all four regions, Hearts & Science was #1 for growth in APAC, EMEA and LATAM, a trifecta that translated to a global growth rate of 9.5% — the highest among all media holding company agency networks on the ranking.     These results reflect how OMG’s Agency as a Platform (AaaP) proposition — powered by the Omni operating system — enabled our agencies to work together across their networks, the group, and the entire Omnicom network to deliver growth for their clients, their organizations, and their talent in 2023. And 2024 is looking even better.     As of this writing, and based on the most recent numbers reported in the COMvergence moment-in-time dashboards, OMG currently holds the best YTD total new business record (wins minus losses, inclusive of retentions) among the Big Six global media groups ($4.6 billion). The COMvergence provisional reporting also shows OMG agencies OMD topping the COMvergence North America total new business dashboard with $654.9 million and PHD atop the global dashboard with $2.97 billion.    All thanks to our 26,000 people working together in OMG offices around the world.

Omnicom Media Group concluded our series of first-mover partnerships announced this week from Cannes with another game-changing collaboration — one that will enable our clients to directly connect their influencer investments to sales.    As our ongoing research into connected commerce consumer behaviors has demonstrated, influencers not only drive demand, they also create net-new demand as well by showing their audiences how to integrate products into their daily lives. However, the ability to create a seamless path to purchase in this category — one that includes dynamic shopping and sales attribution — has lagged behind other channels.    Partnering with Instacart, OMG is bringing to market a solution that both streamlines the path to purchase and bridges the attribution gap.   As the first holding company to kick off integration into the new Instacart Developer Platform (“IDP”) we will be making creator campaign content such as recipes, projects and “get ready with me” routines shoppable, and the products shown ready for immediate purchase via Instacart — with the sale connected via the Flywheel commerce cloud to attribute orders purchased to a specific creator activation.   With global influencer spend hitting the $35 billion mark and global e-commerce sales reaching $6.33 trillion, the ability to connect creator content to online sales will unlock incremental growth for our clients.
