Fontaine Choy’s journey into the world of design began with an initial dream of becoming a noir detective, fueled by a keen analytical eye and a profound fascination with human behavior. As fate would have it, she pivoted her career aspirations towards User Experience (UX) and Product Design, where her passion for storytelling found a new home. Understanding that building impactful experiences is increasingly essential in our technology-driven lives, Fontaine approaches design challenges with an empathetic mindset that prioritizes user needs and experiences.
Currently, Fontaine holds the position of Product Designer at HelloGbye, where she leverages her extensive skills in creating user-centered designs for both iOS and Android platforms. Throughout her career, she has gone beyond the fundamental aspects of responsive design, wireframing, and prototyping. Fontaine is known for her dedication to user research, interaction design, and animation, skills she has honed using design tools such as Sketch, Balsamiq, Invision, and Principle. Her unique blend of creativity and analytical skills allows her to develop solutions that resonate with users, making her an invaluable asset in the product design space.
Before her current role, Fontaine utilized her burgeoning UI/UX skills in various capacities, including as a Freelance UX Designer, where she took on projects that highlighted her ability to adapt and resolve complex design challenges. Additionally, her graduate work at Bitmaker as a UX Immersive Student showcases her commitment to continuous learning and professional development, setting a solid foundation for her career in design. Her diverse career path also includes valuable experiences in business development and support roles at CMiC and Allen Wong & Associates, respectively, where she developed a strong sense of business operations which she deftly integrates into her design projects.
Education and Achievements
Fontaine’s educational journey reflects her interests in both the creative and analytical realms. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, with a specialization in Criminology & Socio-Legal Studies, at the University of Toronto Mississauga. This academic background nurtured her inquisitive nature and provided her with a deep understanding of societal behaviors, which she applies to her work in UX and product design.
Additionally, Fontaine pursued specialized training in UX and Product Design at Bitmaker, further solidifying her expertise in the field. This combination of formal education and practical training equips her with a unique perspective on user-centered design, which she applies in her work by marrying her understanding of human behavior with cutting-edge technology.

Fontaine is continually expanding her skill set by learning vital coding languages such as HTML, CSS, and Javascript. This self-directed learning showcases her commitment to becoming a well-rounded designer capable of navigating both design and technical landscapes. By acquiring these front-end development skills, Fontaine is poised not only to design beautiful interfaces but also to understand the intricate technical aspects that bring them to life.
