Great catching up with Ivor Price, co-founder of Food for Mzansi, and a Journalism Innovation & Leadership Programme (JILeaders) participant ☕️
This time, I had a special surprise: the prestigious WAN-IFRA, the World Association of News Publishers 2024 Digital Media Award for Best Podcast Worldwide for their podcast "The Farmer's Inside Track"!
Here's why this award is a big deal:
To win globally, finalists must first win their category at the regional level. Food for Mzansi impressed judges across Africa - and then bested winners from Asia, Europe, the Americas and South Asia!
Ivor couldn't attend the May ceremony in Copenhagen, so JILeaders' Head of Mentoring Jeremy Clifford brought the award back to the UK and entrusted me to deliver it on my trip to Cape Town.

Want to learn more about how Food for Mzansi make their magic? We're hosting a Media Innovation Studio lunch & learn session with Ivor and his team this autumn! Email [email protected] for an invitation.
Congratulations again to Food For Mzansi!
The Society of Editors’ 25th annual conference started w a minute of silence in honour of the 1278 journalists worldwide who have paid the highest price over the past 25 years to bring us the news. And a reminder from the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak that “as long as British media continues to thrive, so will British democracy.”
