Frank Muraca

Community development analyst interested in affordable housing, housing finance, and disaster recovery

Frank Muraca is a second-year master's student in the UNC Department of City and Regional Planning with a research focus on affordable housing development, housing finance markets, and disaster recovery.

Before pursuing his graduate studies, Frank gained experience in Jiangsu Province, China, where he wrote about migrants and the impact of changing city borders on outlying farm communities.

He completed his Bachelor's Degree in Economics at George Mason University and is currently studying for a Master's degree in City/Urban, Community, and Regional Planning at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Frank has worked in various capacities including as a Real Estate Development Analyst at DFI, a Graduate Research Fellow at the Development Finance Initiative at UNC School of Government, and a Research Assistant at the UNC Center for Community Capital.

His past roles include teaching at Hua Luogeng High School, serving as a Content Coordinator at the Virginia Public Access Project, working as a Program Fellow at Virginia21, and holding positions such as Executive Editor at Fourth Estate and Creator at Fairfaxpedia.

He has also interned at Charlottesville Tomorrow and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
