Frank Tietze

Dr. Frank Tietze is an accomplished academic and researcher, currently leading the Innovation and IP Management laboratory at the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM), part of the Centre for Technology Management at the University of Cambridge.

He holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree from Wolfson College at the University of Cambridge, a Dr. rer. pol. in Technology and Innovation Management from Technische Universität Hamburg-Harburg, a Master's Degree in Management of Production (MSc.) from Chalmers University of Technology, and a Dipl.-Ing. oec in Engineering/Industrial Management from Technische Universität Hamburg-Harburg.

Dr. Tietze has an extensive background in academia, having served as an Associate Professor in Technology and Innovation Management at the University of Cambridge. He has also held roles as a Fellow at Wolfson College, Research fellow at Chalmers University of Technology, Secretary General at the European Institute for Technology and Innovation Management, University Lecturer in Technology and Innovation Management at University of Cambridge, Visiting Researcher at the University of Cambridge, Assistant Professor at Kiel University (CAU), and a Research Assistant at both Hamburg University of Technology and Chalmers University of Technology.

His main research interests lie in innovation processes and systems with a focus on Intellectual Property (IP) management, particularly within the realms of emerging manufacturing technologies and sustainability. Dr. Tietze takes a managerial and relational approach to studying these areas, emphasizing firm-level strategies.

Beyond academia, Dr. Tietze has also contributed to the industry as the Co-Founder and Executive Board Member of Arktik GmbH, showcasing his practical understanding of technology and innovation management.
