Frank Viverito

Viverito was born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 26, 1955.3 He earned a Bachelor's Degree from Rutgers University and a Master's Degree in Sports Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.13 He began his career as the assistant general manager for the Tidewater Tides, a Class AAA affiliate of the New York Mets.4 In 1985, he and his wife, Patty, made St. Louis their home.5 Patty Viverito is the commissioner of the Missouri Valley Football Conference and the Pioneer Football League.4 They have two sons, Greg and Matt.45

Viverito retired as President of the St. Louis Sports Commission at the end of 2022 after 27 years in the role.26 During his time as president, the Sports Commission hosted high-profile events such as the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Final Fours, NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, NCAA Frozen Four, SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament, and the PGA Championship.34 Viverito was at the forefront of developing the Musial Awards, which celebrates sportsmanship.34 The Sports Commission was also named the National Sports Commission of the Year in 2002, 2005, and 2013.34 Viverito has received numerous awards, including induction into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.3
