This week, I was privileged to teach our USF nursing graduate students’ health informatics class from the school's Southern California (OC) Campus! I was very excited about our learners' engagement during the lecture and their research project kick-off presentations, which included innovative topics in healthcare, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in medical imaging, the use of the Metaverse and simulation labs for nursing training, and decision support systems (DSS) to improve patient outcomes. Thank you to USF OC Campus hosts Fr. Timothy Godfrey, Ryan O'Malley, Maureen Lu, Ann Lawani, and Tracey Allen! I'm excited to kick off the new academic year at USF! It's an honor to be part of a passionate, dedicated, and mission-driven community of faculty, librarians, and staff who gathered today in our newly remodeled SOE theater. I'm also inspired by our leadership's forward-thinking vision, which encompasses AI, healthcare, the environment, and other critical societal challenges. This is especially relevant as I gear up to teach a new course called Exploring Generative Artificial Intelligence: The Intersection of Education and Health Ecosystems which I put together from scratch for this Fall 2024 semester. Exciting and challenging times ahead!University of San Francisco University of San Francisco School of Nursing and Health Professions USF MPH Program SONHP AMIA (American Medical Informatics Association) The MSEI @ USF
