Gabriel Attal

Gabriel Attal is a prominent figure in French politics, serving as the Secrétaire d'Etat, or State Secretary, attached to the Prime Minister, where he also acts as the Government's spokesperson.

His journey in public service began through various engagements in the nonprofit sector. While studying at Sciences Po Paris and Université Panthéon Assas (Paris II), he co-founded a project aimed at promoting access to top-tier educational institutions for students from disadvantaged areas.

Gabriel Attal's diverse professional background includes national coordination roles in support of individuals such as Ingrid Betancourt and hostages of the FARC in Colombia. He also gained experience in cultural management through his time at the Academy of France in Rome-Villa Medici, where he contributed to organizing exhibitions and music festivals.

Transitioning into the political sphere, he joined the En Marche movement upon its inception in 2016, aligning with his progressive values. In 2017, he was elected as a member of Parliament for the 10th constituency of Hauts-de-Seine, later assuming key roles in the National Assembly, including as rapporteur for legislation concerning student success.

In 2018, Gabriel Attal took on the position of spokesperson for La République en Marche before being appointed as the State Secretary for Education and Youth within the French Government. There, he led initiatives such as the implementation of the Universal National Service and oversaw youth affairs and community engagement.

Aside from his national roles, Gabriel Attal has also been an active member of the municipal council in Vanves since 2014.

His educational background includes studying Affaires publiques at Sciences Po Paris for his Master's degree and pursuing a degree in Law at Université Panthéon Assas (Paris II).
