Highlights
I'm currently working with a client on a project. As with many organizations, one of their issues deals with internal security. I am not an internal security guy but I do have a certain amount of operational awareness. One general principle which seems to be a truism is that 10% of people are honest, 10% of people are dishonest and 80% of people are opportunistic. It's for this 80% that you need monitoring, deterrence and consequences.
A growing amount of security efforts - especially monitoring - is aimed at internal as opposed to external threats. I think this is following a general trend that we are becoming a lower-trust society.
Terrorism, threats and intimidation have no place in Western society and countries like Canada. However, we have growing populations inside our countries which do not share our traditional values.
Places of worship are perceived to be soft targets. By their very nature, they are designed and operated to be open, welcoming and transparent to the community at-large. There are those who would take advantage of this perceived vulnerability.
No one security strategy, protocol or technology will address every threat. A multiplicity of approaches are required.
Glass and unprotected windows and doorways are a vulnerability in every building. And when the chosen tool of those who try to intimidate is likely to be explosive and incendiary devices, ACE security laminates are an ideal choice to meet this threat. If you wish to discuss your security threat and how we can help, call us at 888-607-0000, email us at [email protected] or DM me.
