Highlights
I am honored to have represented Sky at the Media Innovation Exchange, EU Conference on Digital Transformation and Media Innovation. We engaged in a fruitful dialogue concerning the opportunities and risks presented by Artificial Intelligence, the impact of infodemia and fake news on eroding people’s trust in government and public organizations, the significance of technology from content creation to distribution, and the potential benefits of standardization and cross-industry collaboration for both local and global broadcasters. I gained insights into the complexity and long-term perspectives of policymakers regarding the regulation of emerging technologies and the challenges of balancing innovation with ethical considerations and societal impact. Two great days! I also met our 4 ‘Brussel’s colleagues’ who are working on the policy and regulatory domain while building great collaboration across the Industry. Kudos to J-B Amilhat, Mark Carpenter, Giulia Iop and Jack van den Berg! Great job!
Hello! You may know that Diversity, Inclusion and Gender Parity are dear to my heart. Last week I attended 2 events dedicated to this cause. Plus, I subscribe to Madeleine K. Albright’s quote “there is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women” so… if I end up in hell, it’s going to be for some other reason😉. In Milan, #SkyItalia organized 2 days on Diversity & Inclusion I attended a panel on “Forget about it, this is not a girl’s matter” with Francesca Barra, Riccardo Milani, Silvio Petta and our super facilitator Sarah Varetto who showed her usual blend of expertise, empathy and communication skills which made the panel a true source of ‘goodness’ for all. In Genova, Scilla Signa, founder of #hackher, organized the 4th edition of the program aimed at encouraging young women towards STEM careers and learn from role-model on gender equality. I moderated the panel and I’d like to thank my colleagues Manuela Arata, Elena Guarnone, Ileana Pavia, Annarita Nulchis Green, Antonella Chirichiello Ph.D, MBA, Claudia Filippone for sharing their personal stories of resilience, enthusiasm and commitment to the younger generation of women. Two small-big seeds that help change the world!
