Dr. Gala Korniyenko is the Director of Research and Development for Innovative Communities at National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP).2 She is also a lecturer in the City and Regional Planning Section at The Ohio State University.23 Dr. Korniyenko received her PhD from The Ohio State University, where her research focused on the intersection of urban planning and neurodiversity.1
Dr. Korniyenko has expertise in urban planning, particularly in relation to inclusivity and accommodating neurodiversity in public spaces and participation processes. She has conducted research on how planners can be more inclusive of neurodiverse community members in public participation, exploring ways to provide accommodations without singling out individuals or being tokenistic.1
Recently, Dr. Korniyenko was featured in an article by The Ohio State University, highlighting her work as a lecturer and PhD alumna.3 She is also scheduled to speak at a session in Minneapolis on April 13, 2025, where she and her colleagues will discuss practical examples of inclusive urban planning projects.1

Att. to Knowlton School at The Ohio State University students, who might be a great fit for the fall semester for The STEAM Factory at Ohio State University.
The position details: -Role: Help with basic administrative duties, send emails to an email list with over 300 contacts, and interact with faculty members across the university. The student will require excellent service and strong organizational skills, especially when helping plan and host STEAM Factory events. We are also looking for someone with marketing/graphic design experience who will help create event flyers, market events, and spread awareness of STEAM Factory through social media and our biweekly newsletter.
- Hours and Pay: Students can work up to 10 hours/week for $15/hour.
- Hybrid position: This role is primarily in person with some opportunities for remote work. -Requirements: The applicant must be a current student at Ohio State, have reliable transportation to get to our off-campus location at 400 West Rich and have a laptop.
