Some big changes are coming to the sales engagement space next year. Starting February 2024, Gmail and Yahoo are combating spam and imposing a limit of 5,000 emails a user can send daily. If you exceed this limit, you will risk your emails being marked as spam or undelivered.

Good news is we will all receive less spam! 🥳 This is good!

But this also might cause concern if you use marketing software that blasts emails out to 5k+ contacts. 😑

The new change will require the following for senders who send 5,000 or more messages a day to Google or Yahoo accounts to:

✅ Authenticate outgoing email: Set up postmaster tools & SPF or DKIM email authentication for their domain. 🙅‍♀️ Avoid sending unwanted emails 🚫 Make it easy to unsubscribe

More good news, Clari+Groove has you covered and already have taken steps to ensure that this change will minimally impact our customers. Groove sets limits to prevent you from being seen as a high-volume “spray and pray” spam artist:

Groove and Gmail - There is a max of 2000 emails sent in a 24 hour period. We have adjusted flow throttles to only allow for 1800. This gives you a buffer to send through your inbox. You can adjust the throttle.

Groove and MSFT - There is a max of 5000 emails sent in a 24 hour period. We have adjusted flow throttles to only allow for 4500. This gives you a buffer to send through your inbox. You can adjust the throttle.

If you do use marketing tools that do bulk sends, there are several other adjustments you can make to ensure you are seen as a reputable sender. Please visit our help center to see the steps you can take to improve email deliverability.

Other ways that Groove prevents you from being marked as spam:

✅ Sending to the right contact - Groove pulls your contact/lead information directly from Salesforce. ✅ Make it easy to unsubscribe - Easily add unsubscribe links to all emails in Groove settings.  ✅ Set send thresholds - Easily impose limits on how many emails you want sent out from flows. ✅ Don’t bulk send to the same company - Set limits on the amount of contacts that get imported into flows. ✅ Create authentic email templates - Make your subject lines & email bodies human and real. ✅ Spread the emails out - Utilize scheduled send so you can spread your emails throughout the day.
