This is my annual after The Retail Summit post where i cut through the BS and give you the raw infographics from last weeks summit. As i say every year, we do not massage these numbers like many other events to make them look better.
790 people collected their badges over 2 days which is 37 people less than last year. A disaster? Not by any means, considering the political situation nearby and the floods in the UAE, we are pleased with this result. The 790 travelled from 35 different countries and had 57 different nationalities. This is 7 countries more than 2023 which shows our global audience is growing.
54% of those 790 were retailers. The remaining 46% were not all vendors though, this percentage includes everyone who was not a retailer, press, media etc and even me!
37% of our entire audience were C-Suite and this is something we pride ourselves on, a senior level audience meaning over a third of everyone you talk with will be a decision maker.
We heard from 85 speakers from 19 countries and 35% of our speakers were women.
90% of our speakers were C-Suite.
The networking party at Cloud22 was simply incredible where 307 people soaked up the views of the Palm while enjoying a drink.
Our Women in Retail reception attracted a large audience to Atlantis, The Royal hearing from inspirational female figures Edie Rodriguez, Sima Ganwani Ved, Karen Millen OBE & Melissa Odabash MBE.
The industry elite continued their conversations into a more relaxed atmosphere heading over to the beautiful Milos restaurant for a sit-down dinner against the backdrop of the incredible fountain and fire show, where we awarded Karen Millen OBE our Trailblazer Award.
Ozwald Boateng OBE was as stylish as ever collecting our ICON award at the insanely good CouCou with incredible views of the Palm.
None of this would have been possible without the support of our partners, speakers and attendees. Your contribution and engagement helped make the event a truly collaborative and impactful experience, one that we hope will inspire positive change in the industry for years to come.
