Ooof, this quote is so good. 🤯 I've been thinking a lot about this quote I heard from Daniel Pink during his keynote at #ATD2024. He shared this wisdom... "Don't think about breaks as deviations from your performance. Think of them as part of your performance." I talk about this in my book, the importance of breaks and rest, and highlighting their crucial role in our performance. 🧘🏾📈 We'll work ourselves into burnout, and often think, "I just need to push through my work today instead of taking a break” when in reality, we MUST energize ourselves with micro-breaks throughout the day to be more productive. 🔋 We can't keep running on fumes, friends! Reframe breaks as an integral part of our performance rather than something to be earned or a diversion from it. Experiment with micro-breaks throughout your day this week and see how it enhances productivity. One technique to try is the Pomodoro method, where you work for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break before taking a more extended break after four cycles. 🍅
