Gautam Rao is an early stage investor and three-time Stanford founder with a background in building, scaling, and launching user-first software products across Fintech, B2B SaaS, and Consumer verticals. He has strategic and operational experience in product management, software architecture and development, user experience, analytics, product marketing, business strategy, startups, and venture capital across various regions globally.
His expertise spans multiple geographies including the US, Canada, India, South East Asia, Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Australia/New Zealand. Gautam's educational background includes a Master of Science (M.S.) degree from Stanford University, a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree from Nanyang Technological University, and he has also studied at GoingVC. Throughout his career, he has held roles at prominent organizations like Strathpoint Advisors, Global From Day One (GD1) Fund, mymoneykarma, Pursuit, Finvoice, and has been involved in academia as a teaching assistant at Stanford University, a course instructor at Universidad de Chile, and a research assistant at the Precourt Energy Efficiency Center at Stanford University.
He has also founded Zestbuds and worked in various capacities at Barclays Capital, gaining experience in technology, wealth IT, mortgage analytics, and fixed income and credit IT.
