As the Chancellor, I had the honour of presenting an award to His Excellency, the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the 27th Convocation of the Lagos State University on 6th June, 2024.
Our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello and Pro-Chancellor, Sir David Sunmoni have been doing an outstanding job of running the University.
We pray that the University will reach even greater heights, and are deeply grateful for the Governor’s love and support.
On August 31, 2023 I had the privilege of being the Special Guest at the annual TOSSE event. (TOSSE means “Total School Support Seminar/Exhibition”.) I have been a “friend of the house” from very early times. I delivered the keynote address there. TOSSE is led by Mrs. Yinka Ogunde’s Edumark Consult, a leading firm of consultants to the primary and secondary education sectors. TOSSE is now in its 15th year. It now attracts more than a thousand school owners and operators from across the country. I was surprised to learn there for the first time that our armed forces own some 200 education institutions nationwide at different levels. The education sectors abound with both opportunities and challenges.
