Highlights
It was an honor to be the opening keynote for NRC Health’s #HUB24 this year! My second year in partnership with NRC Health has been just as incredible as the first.
A highlight for me—being Ryan’s guest on the Patient No Longer podcast! We discussed the ever-evolving landscape of #DigitalHealth. It was a truly honest conversation about the state of physician burnout today, where cutting-edge tech like #AI can help, and what healthcare leaders need to be mindful of as we continue innovating towards the future.
The key? When it comes down to it, human connection is the basis of excellent healthcare. We must keep humanity in tech. That idea made HUB24 particularly exciting, seeing all the innovation coming out of NRC with their new AI engine, Huey. They’re truly paving the way for health systems to enable greater human connection.
Speaking of bringing a human-centered approach to healthcare innovation, it was great to be there for Dr. Mike’s (Mikhail Varshavski) keynote during the event!
I loved getting inspired and working with the NRC team at HUB this year. Plus, isn’t it always a fun time to meet people in person and discover they are 6 foot 5?! I was definitely feeling short but mighty next to Ryan Donohue!

I was feeling some BIG feelings this week at the DNC. Gratitude, hope, and anticipation ran high. But one feeling outweighed them all.
A sense of belonging.
As a woman, a minority, and a child of immigrants, I’ve searched for belonging my whole life.
To see a woman, a South Asian woman like me, step on stage symbolizing all the power and potential of the American Dream — it was so LIBERATING!
The feeling that I belong, that I’m as American as anyone and everyone else, and that I deserve to contribute and shape this country’s future — all these feelings hit me at once.
And my daughter Sonia, my own cherished symbol of the American Dream, raced through my mind.
Sonia and I campaigned for the mayor of Miami-Dade County, Daniela Levine Cava, during her first bid for mayor back in 2020.
We were lucky enough to meet her at a Diwali party. Sonia absolutely lit up.
“Mommy. SHE is the mayor? SHE is the boss of Miami!?”
That was bittersweet.
Sweet to witness my daughter seeing and believing that women can achieve anything.
And bitter to know that, even back when she was only 8 years old, Sonia understood there was something unlikely about Cava’s ascent to leadership.
The lesson I instilled in her that day was the same lesson I learned again at the #DNC in Chicago:
The first Black and South Indian female presidential candidate The first female mayor of Jewish descent Our forefathers and mothers here in the U.S. and back in India
They all broke convention to prove that they belong. And to show us that we belong, too.
So give your kids the gift of belonging. Teach them that sometimes it's okay to break convention. And show them that belonging means being responsible, civic-minded, and selfless.
No matter your affiliations, bring your kids with you to the polls. Canvas with them if you can.
Show them that belonging is a gift everyone deserves and anyone can give.
Special thanks goes out to Raja Krishnamoorthi, Daniella Levine Cava, and Glen Tullman.
