This week, together with the EFSD Managing Director and the EFSD Chief Economist team participated at Islamic Development Bank Jubilee Annual Meetings in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In 2024, IsDB celebrates 50 years. A solid date, a profound track record in development financing.
It was particularly interesting to learn more about activities of the Arab Coordination Group (ACG) at the ACG Forum. ACG is a "club" of institutions that investest actively in the region and beyond, syncronizing member-institutions priorities and approaches. Many ACG insitutions are also in the development agenda for half a century, forming a region-specific strategies and responses that take into account global development challanges, such as climate and pandemics. ACG seems to be a good example of long-term and results-oriented partnerships.
EFSD develops dialogue with the IsDB and other regional partner-institutions, taking into account our common membership and sectors of operation, inlcuding energy, transport, water and irrigation, healthcare and education. With this, the IsDB Annual meetings provided excellent opportunity to discuss with the development partners joint analytical and project acitivities and to learn more about the IsDB development result and propsective agenda.
