In this capacity, he collaborates with Prof. Peter Skabara on two significant Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) programmes at Glasgow University focused on SMART stamp transfer manufacturing—an innovative approach to manufacturing that enhances efficiency and product quality.
Geoff's extensive career also includes serving as a Non-Executive Director (NED) for Quantum Science, a cutting-edge start-up specializing in quantum dot technology located on the Daresbury Campus. This role highlights his commitment to advancing innovative technologies and helping nascent companies thrive in competitive markets.
As an entrepreneur, Geoff has recently established a new business in Scotland dedicated to the development of AI-driven autonomous environmental monitoring systems. This venture leverages his vast knowledge and experience in technology to create solutions that address critical environmental challenges. Education and Achievements
Geoff's academic background is as impressive as his career. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in applied physics from Newton Aycliffe and has conducted significant research in the field of electrically controllable liquid crystal Fresnel lenses while pursuing his PhD at Durham University. His educational journey also includes a Master of Science (MSc) in Opto-Electronics and Laser Devices from the prestigious University of St Andrews.
