Highlights
Hello world! I'm looking for a staff level (or "strong senior") engineer to join one of my teams at Recursion. The team is called the Translation Stream Aligned Team (TSAT).
We are Translation because we focus on helping scientists answer: "Does this bet have clinical significance?"
We are Stream Aligned because we focus on automating and scaling the workflow of scientists in the lab who are conducting animal experiments.
We are seeking someone who can functionally contribute to a diverse range of technical areas such as:
- Frontend: Django, typescript, etc. (We don't need to be pixel perfect though)
- Backend: Build & scale data pipelines, create APIs, create terraform to manage our deployments, build with GCP, etc.
- Agile: Someone who is well-versed in agile to act as a tech lead and mentor others on agile practices
- Mentorship (Staff level): Someone who brings a lot of experience solving challenging problems and who can help me mentor and grow others. Mentorship might be for technical topics but also softer things like conducting thorough discoveries
If you are interested, feel free to apply to the roles (links below) and mention your interest in TSAT in your cover letter. You're also welcome to send me a DM (instead of or in addition to a cover letter) stating your interest in the role and your application.

I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Associate Director of Data Science and Engineering at Recursion! Although funemployment is always a journey, it was nice to meet new people at new companies as I explored what my next step should be. Recursion stood out to me because it's both a data and a science company, so I get to return to my roots a bit. There's also a lot of great technical content here for me to learn and I'll get to run experiments and create (data) products. If I behave myself, they might even let me play with their super computer :)
