I was recently doing some work with a potential people consultancy we are looking to partner with to aid in our growth however that is by the by, as part of this there were some reflective questions in a bid to really capture our culture both internally and externally (I see them as the same to be honest) and one of them in particular I thought was worth sharing.
What aspects of your business bring you the most fulfilment?
"The light bulb moment when the penny drops for clients that a route exists, they are fully bought in and can see their eyes light up that the hopes and dreams discussed with us are a reality and that they fully trust we will be there by their side to realise them."
It is hard sometimes to take the time to step back and really take account of what drives us, drives our business and also what we are really trying to achieve overall. Equally it is usually a lot more simple then we think. Obviously we all have personal goals to achieve and the financial reward from our business allows us to do these things but really the longevity comes from getting out of bed every morning to do something you genuinely believe in and to make an IMPACT. Being acutely aware of what this actually is, is even more powerful.
I think this question and the honest answer that came from it when I properly reflected really summarised everything we are trying to achieve at Calder Davis Wealth Management. It is simple but life changing, having some certainty and providing a plan over a clients future is HUGE and allows clients to focus on their talents, family, careers etc. while we look after the financial planning long term. I also know there are many other financial planners out there that share this ethos that I applaud.
As I always say to clients when we first meet, this is not a transactional relationship we are essentially committing to potentially a 20-30 year+ relationship. This is and will always be centre to our business, TRUSTED RELATIONSHIPS.
