Georges Kettaneh

Lebanese Red Cross Secretary General

Georges Kettaneh has been managing First Aiders since 1992 and is known for building up the Leading Emergency Medical Services network in the country. He has extensive experience in launching and supervising various disaster management activities such as Preparedness, Response, and Relief efforts. Georges has also been involved in planning Major Casualty Incidents (MCI), Evacuation procedures, and Search & Rescue drills, along with receiving training abroad.

In his role as Director of EMS and Operations, Georges Kettaneh plays a crucial role in mediating conflicts and establishing ceasefires during various crises in Lebanon, highlighting the Lebanese Red Cross' position as a key neutral humanitarian actor. He has been a member of several national committees appointed by the Lebanese Government to develop National Response plans, Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear plans, as well as Mass Destructive Weapons response plans. Georges also serves on different committees such as the IFRC DM Steering Committee in the MENA Zone and the ESCWA Medical Evacuation Plan committee, emphasizing his extensive involvement in emergency response coordination.

Georges Kettaneh pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Business Management from St. Joseph's University. He currently holds the position of Secretary General at the Lebanese Red Cross, where his leadership and expertise in emergency response and disaster management have significantly contributed to the organization's humanitarian efforts and its recognition both nationally and internationally.
