Highlights
HarperCollins Australia has an opening for a book editor! You'll be the editorial lead on a bunch of our books each year, from Walkley-winning journalists to buzzy crime fiction authors. I love my colleagues and can guarantee you'll be joining a fun and supportive team.
They're also open to someone based down here in Melbourne with me—so come work on my books, word nerds.
I’m overjoyed to share that I’ve started a new position as Publisher, ABC Books at HarperCollins Australia!
This is a dream job that I never knew existed, combining the journalistic nous of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) with the oldest book publisher in Australia, HarperCollins Australia. I'll be leading their non-fiction list, publishing books both by ABC broadcasters and other experts around Australia on topics that align with their audience—current affairs, narrative history, biography, science, indigenous issues, the whole gamut. (I'll also be commissioning books for the HarperCollins list, too.)
I'm a longtime listener, first time caller: I grew up in a household that always had ABC Radio National buzzing in the background and played Mr. Squiggle at dinnertime. As an adult living in New York, the ABC was my main news source for home, and I was even featured in 7.30's Black Lives Matter coverage. I knew I wanted to spend the next stage of my career telling Australian stories, so I'm excited to bring my dual career in news journalism and book publishing together in this role to promote home-grown ideas.
So if you've got a book concept or a manuscript bubbling away in your brain, please reach out. I'm excited to join the Australian literary landscape!
