Misplaced Anger against lack of Deep Fake Identification: Rather than develop solutions to identify "AI-generated calls", what we really need is (1) New Digital Identity [see: https://lnkd.in/eHKvj9i5] (2) improved KYC (including vetting and ongoing monitoring) and ultimately (3) improved Consent Management.

The Federal Communications Commission NPRM about AI-generated calls is an important opportunity to look beyond AI technology. The genie 🧞 is out of the bottle 🍾 and it's not going back !!!

Arguably, what we really need is better visibility for consumers and traceability and accountability for call originators, BPOs, and brands... regardless of what type of technology is in place !!

There is a need for development and maintenance of a Trust Framework for communications that includes enhanced KYC, authentication/validation, consent management, and UI/UX improvements.
