Ghada Alatrash

Ghada Alatrash is a Syrian-Canadian woman known for her work as a Social Justice activist and as an educator in Women's Gender Studies and General Education at Mount Royal University.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business and International Studies from Abilene Christian University, a Master of Arts in English Literature from the University of Oklahoma, and holds a PhD in Educational Research from the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary.

Ghada Alatrash is the author of the book 'Stripped to the Bone: Portraits of Syrian Women.' Her passion for social justice and gender equality is evident in her teaching and writing.

Throughout her career, Ghada has held various roles including being an Instructor at Mount Royal University, a Columnist at Globe and Mail, a Columnist at Op/Ed Gulf News in the United Arab Emirates, and a Freelance Writer. She has also dedicated her time to advocacy and volunteer work at organizations like The Elizabeth Fry Society of Calgary and Standing Up To Bullies.

With a diverse background that includes experience in education, writing, public speaking, and translation, Ghada Alatrash brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her work.
