Gilbert has held various key positions in prestigious organizations, demonstrating his expertise and leadership capabilities.

He currently serves as the Director-General for South Asia & Sub-saharan Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Singapore.

Prior to his current role, Gilbert was actively involved in the field of ceramics as a Ceramic Artist at Gilbert Oh Ceramics.

His previous roles include Director of Corporate Affairs, Deputy Permanent Representative, Minister Counsellor at the Singapore Permanent Mission to the UN & other International Organizations in Vienna, and Deputy Resident Representative & Counsellor at the Singapore Permanent Mission to the IAEA.

Gilbert also has experience as Deputy Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Assistant Director at the National Population and Talent Division in the Prime Minister's Office, and Country Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Singapore.

His international exposure includes serving as a First Secretary at the Singapore Embassy in Tokyo.
